Dennis Epple is the Thomas Lord University Professor of Economics at Carnegie Mellon University's Tepper School of Business. He also serves as Head of the Economics Program at Tepper. His research focuses on public economics, education economics, taxation, urban economics, and applied econometrics. Epple holds degrees from Purdue University (B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering), Princeton University (M.P.A., M.S. in Economics, and Ph.D. in Economics). He has held leadership roles, including Acting Dean at CMU and Head of Economics at Tepper (2005–2014). His work has been published in top journals like the American Economic Review and Journal of Public Economics. Epple is a Fellow of the Econometric Society and a Research Associate at NBER.
