Dennis Cheaney is a classical realist artist and instructor at the New York Academy of Art specializing in observational painting with emphasis on structure, color, and design. He holds an MFA from the New York Academy of Art and trained with Ted Seth Jacobs in France.
Teaching focuses on fundamentals of oil painting through graduate courses and workshops. Artistic practice explores still life and landscape genres with exhibitions across the United States. Awards include the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant for figurative work.
Current instructional development includes the Essentials of Landscape Painting course integrating digital learning platforms with traditional techniques.
