Denise Smith is Professor and Associate Dean at the School of Liberal Arts, Savannah College of Art and Design. She holds a Ph.D. in Art History from the University of New Mexico, an M.A. in Art History from the same institution, and a B.A. in Art History from Colorado State University.
Her research focuses on rock art interpretation, Native American cultural heritage, and archaeological methodologies. She investigates the relationship between artistic expression, landscape, and cultural identity in indigenous communities.
Smith's publications demonstrate consistent focus on rock art documentation and analysis, with recent work exploring interdisciplinary approaches. Her scholarly output spans cultural heritage preservation, artistic symbolism, and archaeological fieldwork techniques.
