Denise Reyes

Denise Reyes is an Assistant Professor in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at the University of Houston's Department of Psychology, part of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Rice University and a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Central Florida. Her research focuses on leadership development, team dynamics, workplace diversity, and rejection in organizational settings. Key areas of study include inclusive leadership strategies for gender-diverse teams, the impact of perceived discrimination on career trajectories, and evidence-based approaches to handling workplace rejection.

Reyes has been recognized with the 2019 Joyce & Thayer Graduate Fellowship from the Society for Industrial Organizational Psychology for her exceptional research in training and development. Her work has been published in prestigious journals such as Journal of Applied Psychology, The Leadership Quarterly, and American Psychologist. She explores topics ranging from virtual team leadership challenges to the design of effective leadership training programs.
