Denise Dunlap

Denise R. Dunlap is an Associate Professor of Global Strategic Management, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship at the Manning School of Business, University of Massachusetts Lowell. She holds a PhD from Temple University’s Fox School of Business. Her research examines global knowledge sourcing strategies and their impact on innovation, particularly in bio-pharmaceutical and med-tech industries. She leads the Biotech East program and serves on the Executive Board of M2D2 and the Editorial Review Board of the Journal of International Business Studies.

• MS in Business Administration & International Business, Southwest Minnesota State University
• PhD in Strategic Management & International Business, Temple University

Research Interests: Global strategy, technological innovation, knowledge sourcing, emerging markets, bio-pharmaceutical and med-tech industries. Her work addresses how firms leverage knowledge networks to drive breakthrough innovations and improve global healthcare access. Recent studies focus on pandemic-driven shifts in medical technology adoption and point-of-care testing preferences.

Grants & Partnerships: Principal investigator on NIH-funded initiatives like CAPCaT (point-of-care technologies) and CAPES (suicide prevention), as well as the LIFT Program. Previously contributed to the RADx initiative for rapid diagnostic development during the pandemic. Collaborates with UMass Chan Medical School, Keck Graduate Institute, and the American Society for Cell Biology.
