Denis Loveridge

Denis Loveridge is an Honorary Visiting Professor at the University of Manchester, affiliated with the Alliance Manchester Business School and the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research (MIoIR). He holds qualifications including CEng, FEI, MPhil, and BSc. With over 44 years of industry experience, he transitioned into academia in 1991, contributing to UK and EU Technology Foresight programmes. His work focuses on grand challenges, technology foresight, sustainability, and converging technologies.

Education includes degrees in engineering and science. His research explores complex societal challenges through interdisciplinary lenses, emphasizing innovation strategies and sustainable development. He advises governments and organizations globally on foresight methodologies and scenario planning.

Research outputs highlight contributions to strategic innovation frameworks, R&D in uncertain environments, and sustainable business models. His work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in knowledge transfer and environmental impact.

Denis has pioneered courses on foresight and led collaborative projects in air pollution reduction and corporate venturing. He founded ventures like the West Lancashire Enterprise Trust and contributed to VLSI design advancements.
