Delaine R. Swenson

Delaine R. Swenson is a Professor of Law at the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin (KUL), where he founded and directs the Center for Advancing Legal Skills. He previously co-founded the Center for American Law at KUL and has held leadership roles in international legal reform programs.

• Education: Whitworth College (double degree in History/Political Science and Theatre Arts), George Washington University National Law Center (J.D.)

Research Interests center on legal reform, judicial training, trial advocacy, and rule of law initiatives. His work spans criminal law, civil procedure, human rights, and comparative legal systems, with a focus on post-Soviet states and international cooperation.

Scientific Awards:

• Outstanding Young Lawyer of the Year, State of Washington (1994)

Professional Experience includes senior roles with the American Bar Association's CEELI program, Fulbright Senior Scholar in Poland, and ongoing consulting for OSCE, UN, USAID, and the State Department. He has led multi-million-dollar legal reform projects across Central Asia and China.
