Dr. Deepa Kirk is a Professor of Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine, where she serves as Vice Chief of the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism and Associate Vice Chair for Outpatient Services. She earned her MD from UNC Chapel Hill (2000), completed residency and chief residency at the University of Pennsylvania (2000-2004), and an Endocrinology fellowship at the same institution (2004-2006).
Her clinical expertise spans thyroid disorders, general endocrinology, and diabetes. She previously directed the endocrine curriculum at UNC School of Medicine and currently oversees the medical student clinical elective in adult endocrinology. As Medical Director of the UNC Endocrinology Clinic (2014-2024), she optimized clinical workflows and patient experience; in her current leadership roles, she focuses on faculty recruitment, service-line development, and operational efficiency.
