Debra Willison is a Professor of Learning & Teaching at the University of Strathclyde, holding concurrent roles including Vice Dean Academic of the Faculty of Science (2015-present), Chair of Strathclyde Online (2017-present), and secondment to the Office of the Vice Principal focusing on Learning and Teaching strategy. Her work bridges academic leadership and pedagogical innovation.
Her research focuses on student transitions, employability, widening participation, and students-as-partners initiatives. Previously conducted chemistry research centered on asymmetric synthesis using ferrocene derivatives and metal carbonyl complexes.
Recent publications explore curriculum development for sustainability and retraction processes in scholarly communication. She has secured 46 grants including projects on educational equity funded by the Royal Society of Chemistry and British Council.
