Debra Whitehead

Dr. Debra Whitehead is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Natural Sciences at Manchester Metropolitan University. Her research focuses on physical chemistry, nanomedicine, and biomedical applications. She has been recognized with the Poster Prize at Nanomed 2015 for her work on nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems.

• Supervises PhD students including Helen Casey and Cai Astley (co-supervised with Dr. May Azzawi).
• Teaches physical chemistry and supervises postgraduate research students.

Research interests include developing mesoporous nanoparticles for targeted drug delivery, particularly in cardiovascular applications. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry (MRSC).
