Deborah Poston

Deborah Poston is an Associate Professor of Teacher Education and Clinical Experiences Coordinator at Newberry College. With 26 years of K-12 teaching experience across diverse settings (including gifted education, special education, and rural/urban schools), she focuses on instructional strategies for academic improvement. She co-authored 'Morning Jumpstarts' (Scholastic, 2000) and serves as mentoring coordinator for the RETAIN Center of Excellence.

Her expertise includes teacher mentorship, standardized test preparation, and clinical supervision of student teachers. As a former Teacher-Specialist-On-Site for the South Carolina Department of Education, she implemented programs to elevate underperforming schools.
