Deborah Pearlman

Deborah Pearlman is an Associate Professor of the Practice of Epidemiology at Brown University. Her research focuses on the social ecology of communities and its impact on health outcomes across lifespans, guided by principles of equity, effectiveness, sustainability, and community engagement.

• Education: Ph.D. in Health Policy from Brandeis University (Waltham, MA) with a focus on quantitative research methods and program evaluation.

Key research areas include childhood asthma, youth/young adult behavioral/mental health, interpersonal/sexual violence, and gender-based inequity's impact on women's health. Current applied epidemiology grants support community-based interventions addressing these issues.
