Deborah Panepinto

Deborah Panepinto is an Associate Professor at the Department of Environment, Land and Infrastructure Engineering (DIATI), Polytechnic University of Turin, where she has been affiliated since 2006. She holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the same institution and teaches courses such as Environmental Damage Assessment and Compatibility, Climate Change Mitigation, and Energy Recovery from Waste and Biomass at the Master’s and PhD levels. She also serves as Vice Coordinator of the PhD program in Civil and Environmental Engineering and supervises doctoral research.

Research Interests: Her research spans air pollution, waste and wastewater treatment, renewable energy, thermal treatment technologies, and environmental compatibility assessment. She focuses on pollutant dispersion modeling, energy recovery from waste, circular economy applications, and environmental impact assessments. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals 6 (Clean Water), 7 (Clean Energy), 9 (Industry and Innovation), and 13 (Climate Action).

Recent Research Trends: Her recent publications (2022–2025) emphasize gaseous pollutant abatement in waste-to-energy plants, PFAS degradation via combustion, NaTech risk modeling, LCA of industrial processes, and urban air quality with a focus on the Po Valley. She frequently employs modeling and experimental validation techniques, particularly in fluid dynamics and emission control.

She is a member of the PhD academic board for Civil and Environmental Engineering at Politecnico di Torino (2020–2025).
