Deborah Glass

Deborah Glass is a Professor at Monash University, specializing in occupational exposure assessment for epidemiology. She holds a PhD from Deakin University and has extensive experience in occupational hygiene, including roles at the University of Birmingham and Melbourne University. Her research focuses on firefighter health, occupational carcinogens, and silicosis prevention in industries like artificial stone benchtop fabrication.

Education: Natural Sciences (Cambridge University, 1974), Teaching Qualification (Leicester University, 1975), Master’s in Occupational Health (1980), PhD from Deakin University (1999).

Research Interests: Exposure assessment in occupational settings, firefighter health risks, silicosis, occupational carcinogens, and respiratory health. Her work addresses PFAS exposure in firefighters, coal mine worker health, and artificial stone industry hazards. She contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals related to health and environmental sustainability.
