Deborah Beghe

Deborah Beghe is an Associate Professor at the Department of Economics and Business Administration, University of Parma. Her academic roles include teaching and research across multiple programs focused on sustainable agriculture, food systems, and agri-food chain management. She has consistently contributed to courses such as "Cooperation for Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security," "Crop Production," and "Herbs, Spices and Nervine Plants" across various academic cycles since 2018. Her teaching spans undergraduate and graduate programs in Global Studies for Sustainable Development, Food Chain Management, and Sustainable Food Systems.

Her research interests center on agri-food systems, post-harvest physiology, and the application of smart technologies (IoT, machine learning) in agriculture. She has collaborated on studies involving soil microbiome dynamics, crop water stress response, olive oil quality enhancement, and precision agriculture systems. Recent work includes leveraging IoT for tomato and hop cultivation optimization, as well as machine learning for plant morphological analysis.
