Deborah A. Hogan is a Professor of Microbiology and Immunology at the Geisel School of Medicine, Dartmouth College. She leads the Hogan Lab, focusing on microbial interactions in human health and disease. Her research explores how microbes like Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Candida albicans interact, with implications for pathogenesis and community dynamics. She holds a Ph.D. from Michigan State University (1999) and an A.B. from Harvard University (1993).
Her lab investigates microbial competition, biofilm formation, and host responses using genetic, biochemical, and genomic approaches. Key areas include understanding how microbial interactions influence virulence and antibiotic resistance. The lab collaborates widely, employing computational tools like eADAGE for analyzing microbial transcriptomes.
