Debora Antoniotti de Vasconcelos e Sa

Debora Antoniotti de Vasconcelos e Sa is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), part of the Faculty of Science and Engineering. She is affiliated with the Psychology, Sport and Sensory Science School and the ARU Centre for Mind and Behaviour. A chartered psychologist, her work focuses on family caregivers’ mental health, particularly in psychosis and chronic conditions like Parkinson’s disease. She employs mixed-methods research, including Experience Sampling Methodology (EMA).

• Education: PhD in Clinical Psychology (University of Manchester, 2014), Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching (ARU, 2017), BSc Psychology (University of Lisbon, 2001).
• Research: Investigates caregiver-recipient interactions (Expressed Emotion, behavioral control), clinical interventions (Compassion-Focused Therapy, CBT), and mental/physical health outcomes.

Her teaching includes clinical psychology modules such as Mental Health and Distress, Clinical Formulation, and Diagnosis in Child Psychology. Debora has coordinated clinical trials at Harvard Medical School and City University London, focusing on mindfulness interventions and psychiatric care.
