Dr. Debashish Banerji is the Haridas Chaudhuri Endowed Chair for Indian Philosophies and Culture and Doshi Professor of Asian Art at the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS). He also serves as Executive Director of Nalanda International, a nonprofit promoting interdisciplinary higher education. His career spans roles as president of the East-West Cultural Center, Professor of Indian Studies and Dean at the University of Philosophical Research, and adjunct faculty at UCLA, UC Irvine, and Pasadena City College.

Dr. Banerji's research bridges art, culture, and spirituality, focusing on pre-modern, modern, and contemporary Asian art histories, integral yoga, and postmodern theory. He curates exhibitions on Indian and Japanese art and explores East-West/North-South cultural dualisms.
Recent Publications: His works include 'Seven Quartets of Becoming' (2012), 'The Alternate Nation of Abanindranath Tagore' (2010), and edited volumes on Rabindranath Tagore (2013) and Critical Posthumanism (2016).

He contributes to academic discourse as editor and board member for Sutra Journal and International Journal of Dharma Studies, advocating for holistic education and cross-cultural synthesis.
