Dawn Swancutt

Dr Dawn Swancutt is a Senior Research Fellow at the Peninsula Medical School (Faculty of Health), University of Plymouth. She specializes in applied health services research, focusing on patient experience and NHS service delivery improvements. Her primary role involves co-leading the NIHR-funded PROGROUP research program, which explores group-based interventions for severe obesity management. She collaborates across multidisciplinary teams to develop practical research addressing patient-centered outcomes.

Dr Swancutt holds affiliations with the Evidence-Based Medicine PenARC teaching team and serves on the Researcher Forum and University Research Excellence Framework steering group. Her research interests include multimorbidity consultations, fall recovery strategies, and patient pathways to prevent hospital admissions. She has contributed to evaluating GP training models (e.g., SHERPA) and optimizing emergency care processes.

Her work integrates qualitative and mixed-methods approaches, emphasizing collaboration between patients, clinicians, and policymakers.
