Professor Dawn Edge holds appointments at the University of Manchester as Professor of Mental Health & Inclusivity and Academic Lead for Equality, Diversity & Inclusion. Her research focuses on reducing inequalities in mental healthcare access and outcomes for marginalized communities.
Education includes PhD in Medical Sociology (Manchester, 2003), MRes in Social Sciences (Salford, 2000), and BSc (Hons) Health Care and Welfare (Salford, 1993).
Research examines intersections of ethnicity, gender, and mental health; digital health interventions; perinatal mental health; and culturally-adapted therapies. Current projects include NIHR-funded trials on culturally-adapted family interventions for psychosis and dementia care in Caribbean communities.
Publications emphasize qualitative methods, service user involvement, and cultural adaptation in mental healthcare. Recent work explores digital health implementation and equity-focused service redesign.
