Dawn Carusi

Dawn Carusi is an Associate Professor in the Department of History, Philosophy & Religion at Marietta College, where she has taught since 2003. Her academic foundation includes a Ph.D. in Communication Studies from Ohio University.

Professor Carusi's research centers on Fan Studies, Gender Studies, Relational Communication, and Narrative Studies, with emphasis on female fan communities and gender dynamics in media. She investigates how film and television narratives shape identity and relational patterns within popular culture.

She teaches Gender & Pop Culture, Representations in American Film, and Advanced Gender & Sexuality Studies, guiding students through critical analysis of media representations and gender constructs in contemporary society.
