Dawei Liang

Professor Dawei Liang is an Associate Professor with Habilitation at the NOVA School of Science and Technology, Universidade Nova de Lisboa. His research focuses on solar-pumped lasers and optoelectronics, with contributions to high-efficiency laser systems and solar concentrator design. He holds academic degrees from Tianjin University (B.S. 1984, M.S. 1986) and Chongqing University (Ph.D. 1990), with an equivalent Ph.D. from Universidade Nova de Lisboa (1995).

His research projects include groundbreaking work on Ce:Nd:YAG solar lasers, funded by FCT-MCTES and EU grants. Notable publications include seminal works on solar laser efficiency, published in SOL. ENERGY MATER. SOL. CELLS and J. PHOTON. ENERG., alongside books on solar-pumped laser technologies and optical concentrators.

Liang advises multiple Ph.D. students and researchers, including B. Tiburcio, M. Catela, and H. Costa.
