Dawei Fang is an Associate Professor of Finance at the University of Gothenburg's Department of Economics. His research focuses on corporate finance, personnel economics, and contest structures, with a particular interest in optimizing managerial contracts and incentive systems to enhance shareholder and social value. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Oxford (2013), alongside master's and bachelor's degrees from Oxford and Fudan University.
Key research areas include private equity fund management, rank-based reward systems, mutual fund tournaments, and optimal contest design. His work has been published in top journals like the Journal of Political Economy and Journal of Corporate Finance. He received the Hans Dalborg Award (2020) for excellence in financial economics research.
Teaching includes corporate finance, mathematics, and microeconomics at graduate and PhD levels.
