About
Davy GERARD is an Associate Professor at Université de Technologie de Compiègne (UTT), affiliated with the Light, nanomaterials, nanotechnologies (L2n - CNRS-UMR 7076) laboratory. He holds dual roles as Deputy Head of the Material Science (MTE) engineering program since 2023 and previously served as Head of the program from 2008–2023. His research focuses on nanoscale light-matter interactions, plasmonics, and chiral nanostructures. GERARD earned a PhD in Physics from Université de Bourgogne (2004) and a Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (HDR) from Sorbonne University (2019).
Teaching responsibilities include courses on materials for energy, solid-state physics, and optical technologies. His work spans interdisciplinary collaborations in nanotechnology and has produced over 30 peer-reviewed articles. Key contributions include advancements in aluminum-based plasmonic systems and chiral nanophotonics.
Current projects emphasize scalable optical antenna design and polarization-sensitive encryption using nanomaterials. GERARD’s lab (L2n) integrates experimental and theoretical approaches to push boundaries in nanomaterial applications.
