About
Professor Davide Costanzo is a Professor of Experimental Particle Physics and Head of the Particle Physics and Particle Astrophysics Research Cluster at the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, University of Sheffield. His research focuses on Supersymmetry and Dark Matter studies using the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) ATLAS experiment. He has held roles including Leverhulme Research Fellow (2015-16), coordinator of ATLAS upgrade software (2014-16), and chair of the physics and software validation group (2005-10).
His research interests include third-generation Supersymmetry searches, computing at the LHC, and software development for the ATLAS experiment. He plans to focus on supersymmetry searches involving bottom/top quarks and missing transverse energy, supported by a European Research Council grant for student/postdoc collaborations.
Professional activities include membership in the STFC Peer Review Panel and refereeing for journals/funding agencies. His work combines experimental analysis with software innovation, contributing to ATLAS’s software infrastructure and data interpretation strategies.
