David Zeglen is a Lecturer and Core Faculty member in the Program in International and Comparative Studies (PICS) at the University of Michigan's International Institute. He holds a PhD in Cultural Studies from George Mason University (2022), an MSc in Globalization Studies from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (2013), an MA in Film & Television Studies from the University of East Anglia (2008), and a BFA in Film Studies from Concordia University (2006).
His research focuses on cultural theory within International Relations and Global Political Economy, examining how time, space, and identity function as sites of power and resistance. Current projects include analyzing capitalist temporal ideologies rooted in Western European bourgeois revolutions and exploring utopian temporalities in climate crisis mobilization.
Before academia, Zeglen worked with NGOs such as the Committee for Human Rights in North Korea, Project Hope Palestine, and Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan.
