David Y. Hwang, MD, FAAN, FCCM, FNCS is a Professor of Neurology and Division Chief for Neurocritical Care at the University of North Carolina (UNC) School of Medicine. He serves as Co-PI for the Duke/UNC NINDS StrokeNet Regional Coordinating Center and is Associate Faculty at the Center for Bioethics. Dr. Hwang specializes in neurocritical care and neuropalliative care, focusing on clinical decision-making and family support in severe acute brain injury (SABI) scenarios.

He is currently lead author for upcoming guidelines by the Neurocritical Care Society and Society of Critical Care Medicine.
