David Wunder is a Professor of Engineering Education at Calvin College and serves as the Dean for Faculty Development and Research Initiatives. He holds a PhD in Environmental Engineering from the University of Minnesota, an MS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Iowa, and a BS in Civil Engineering from Missouri University of Science and Technology.

His research focuses on environmental engineering, water treatment, and sustainable disinfection practices, with projects addressing global water challenges. Wunder founded the Clean Water Institute at Calvin College and has extensive pre-academic experience in municipal water systems, including 10 years of professional engineering work prior to joining Calvin in 2004.
