David Weightman is a Professor of Industrial Design at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign’s School of Art & Design, holding a dual appointment in Technology Entrepreneurship. He previously served as Dean of the School of Art and Design at Staffordshire University and held roles at institutions including Coventry University and the Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi. His research explores user-product relationships in digital manufacturing, acoustic design, and hearing conservation.
Education: Master’s in Industrial Design (Engineering) from the Royal College of Art, London.
Professional Experience: Consultant to Yamaha, Massey Ferguson, BBC Television, and the Tate Gallery. Served as Midwest District Vice President of the Industrial Design Society of America and participated in the National Association of Schools of Art and Design’s future education working group.
