David Webster is an Assistant Professor of History at Bishop’s University in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada. He specializes in Canadian foreign policy, decolonization, and trans-Pacific relations, with a focus on East Timor, Indonesia, and human rights advocacy. His research examines the intersection of diplomacy, nationalism, and international organizations in post-war contexts. He has authored influential books such as *Fire and the Full Moon: Canada and Indonesia in a Decolonizing World* (2009) and *Challenge the Strong Wind: Canada and East Timor 1975-99* (2020), and has edited volumes on truth commissions and Timor-Leste’s independence struggle.
