Dr. David Webber is Associate Professor and Assistant Chair of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness at Virginia Commonwealth University's Wilder School. His research examines psychological, cultural and social factors in radicalization processes, violent extremism, and deradicalization program effectiveness.
Funded by the U.S. Department of Defense, his work has been presented to prosecutors, law enforcement, and international counter-terrorism agencies. He developed a tripartite theory of radicalization addressing motivation, social relationships and ideology.
