David Walton

David Walton is an Assistant Professor of History at Western Carolina University (WCU) and the director of WCU’s newly established African American Studies minor program, effective August 1. He previously served as an Assistant Professor of History at the University of North Carolina Pembroke, where he taught courses including African American History, Black Feminist Movements, and Sub-Saharan African History. Walton holds a B.A. in African American Studies from Eastern Michigan University (2005), an M.A. in U.S. and World History (2008), and a Ph.D. in History and African American and African Studies from Michigan State University (2017).
