David W. Jordan serves as Professor of Radiology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Chief Medical Physicist for Radiology and Radiation Safety at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center, and Chief Diagnostic Medical Physicist at the Louis Stokes Veterans Affairs Medical Center. With over 20 years of experience, he leads system-wide medical physics programs across 12+ hospitals and 70+ ambulatory facilities in Northeast Ohio.
His educational credentials include a BS, MS, and PhD from the University of Michigan, complemented by five board certifications in medical physics.
Dr. Jordan's research focuses on nuclear imaging instrumentation, radiopharmaceutical therapy, and advanced diagnostic modalities including digital PET and spectral detector CT. His work bridges clinical implementation with workforce development in medical physics practice models.
He has received eight consecutive Teacher of the Year Awards and holds dual Fellowships from the American College of Radiology and American Association of Physicists in Medicine.
As director of UH Cleveland Medical Center's medical physics residency program, he mentors future specialists while maintaining active leadership roles in the American Board of Radiology and American Board of Magnetic Resonance Safety. His professional engagements span the Society of Nuclear Medicine, Health Physics Society, and Laser Institute of America.
