About
David Sánchez García is a Professor at the Department of Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, IQS School of Engineering, Universitat Ramon Llull. His research focuses on advanced materials for drug delivery, porphycene synthesis, and antifibrinolytic agents. He leads the Grup d'Enginyeria de Materials (GEMAT), a multidisciplinary team exploring functional materials for biomedical applications. Key projects include NanoPan-3D (drug delivery systems for pancreatic cancer) and Co-delivery of nucleic acids and anticancer drugs using mesoporous silica nanoparticles.
His expertise spans nanotechnology, organic synthesis, and pharmaceutical chemistry. Recent work includes stimuli-responsive polymers for siRNA co-delivery and novel triazole derivatives for antifibrinolytic therapy. With a h-index of 20 and 1,599 citations, his contributions bridge material science and clinical applications.
- Projects (Selected):
- NanoPan-3D (2022–2025): Developing 3D drug delivery systems to counter pancreatic cancer drug resistance.
- GEMAT Group (2022–2025): Engineering advanced materials for biomedical and industrial use.
His lab’s innovations include porphycene conjugates for imaging and therapy, and NO-releasing nanoparticles for targeted liver treatment. Current research emphasizes dual-therapy approaches and programmable drug delivery mechanisms.
