David Soler Hernandez

David Soler Hernandez is an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Environmental Sciences, University of Girona, where he has held teaching and research roles since 2000/2001. He is affiliated with the College of Sciences and serves as a Geology Tutor at the Girona Center of the National University of Distance Education (UNED) since 2019/20.

His research focuses on hydrogeology, geological hazards, and the conservation of geological and natural heritage, particularly groundwater resources and their interactions with aquatic ecosystems. He co-leads the Water, Nature, and Wellbeing Chair (2020–present), promoting interdisciplinary research on water and biodiversity in the Guilleries region.

He collaborates as a technical consultant for municipal and regional entities on groundwater management and environmental geology. His work integrates applied geophysics, geological prospection, and cultural heritage studies.

As part of the Environmental Geology and Cartography Research Group (GEOCAMB), he contributes to projects like geological mapping and environmental risk assessment. He also mentors students in geology and promotes research initiatives at the Girona Center (UNED).
