David Smith

David Smith is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Classical and Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures at Wayne State University's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. His research focuses on classical philosophy, early Christian philosophy, and classical military tactics/equipment of Roman and Greek antiquity. He holds an M.A. in Latin and Classics from Wayne State University (1992) and a Lifetime Teaching Certificate in Latin, English, and Social Studies.

Recent teaching assignments include CLA1010 - Classical Civilization across multiple terms (Fall/Winter 2024-2025), with upcoming courses scheduled through Fall 2025.
