Professor David Silvester holds the Chair in Applied Mathematics at the University of Manchester's Department of Mathematics. His research focuses on numerical analysis and computational science, with expertise in finite element methods, incompressible flow, and stochastic PDEs. He leads research groups in Data Science, Numerical Analysis, and Uncertainty Quantification.
His educational background includes a BSc in Mathematics (First Class Honours) and PhD in Numerical Analysis from UMIST.
