David Scanlon

David Scanlon is an Associate Professor and Program Director for Moderate Support Needs at Boston College's Lynch School of Education and Human Development. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Arizona and degrees from the University of New Hampshire. His expertise spans strategic teaching, student self-advocacy, and content-area literacy for learners with disabilities.

Research interests focus on interventions empowering students with high-incidence disabilities in inclusive settings. He has secured over $5 million in grants, including projects on IEP dispute resolution and instructional accommodations in Catholic schools. Scanlon serves as editor of Learning Disabilities Research & Practice and has authored peer-reviewed articles and textbooks.
