David Rudlin

David Rudlin serves as Visiting Professor of Urbanism at the Manchester School of Architecture (MSA), University of Manchester. He concurrently holds the position of Director of Urban Design at Manchester Studio BDP, where he has led high-profile projects including Manchester’s Victoria Station refurbishment and Oldham’s Town Hall redevelopment. Previously, he directed pioneering urban design practice URBED for over three decades, establishing himself as a leading figure in sustainable urbanism.

Professor Rudlin's research centers on sustainable urban regeneration, industrial heritage reuse, and 21st-century Garden City development. His work bridges academic theory and practical implementation through initiatives like the URBED+ programme, fostering public engagement with urban challenges. He actively disseminates knowledge through a monthly column in BD Magazine and influential policy reports shaping contemporary urban discourse.
