David Rousseau is a Professor of Foundation Studies at Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), holding the position since 2005. He holds an M.F.A. in Illustration from SCAD and a B.A. in Communication Arts and Graphic Design from Lyndon State College. His professional roles span academia, media, and business, including stints as a storyboard artist, video journalist, and business executive. He has also served as a facilitative mediator and held leadership roles in organizations like the Savannah Film Commission and Tennessee Valley Mediation Association.
Rousseau’s research and teaching focus on visual design systems, storyboarding, and art education. His publications include Storyboarding Essentials (2013) and its Chinese edition (2017), as well as books on Savannah’s cultural history. He has contributed to SCAD’s e-learning courses in visual design and narrative.
Awarded SCAD’s 2008 '40 Under 40' honor and multiple AP recognitions for journalism, Rousseau has balanced artistic, academic, and entrepreneurial pursuits. His work integrates visual storytelling with community engagement, reflecting his diverse career.
