David Rogoff

David Rogoff is a Visiting Professor of Sociology at Methodist University in Fayetteville, NC. He co-directs the Punta Laguna Archaeological Project in Mexico with Penn alumna Sarah Kurnick, focusing on Postclassic/Classic Period relationships and community-guided archaeology benefiting local residents. The project is funded by the National Geographic Society, American Philosophical Society, and Gerda Henkel Stiftung.

His research centers on Archaeology and Mesoamerica, with an emphasis on community-based methodologies that prioritize local collaboration and tangible outcomes for indigenous communities. This approach integrates sociological frameworks with archaeological fieldwork to foster sustainable partnerships.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Kenyon College (2006).
