About
David Riley is a Professor at the School of Mathematics and Physics, Queen's University Belfast, and a member of the Centre for Light-Matter Interaction (CLMI). His research focuses on low temperature plasmas, warm dense matter, and laser-plasma interactions. He is currently accepting PhD students and leads projects such as Shining Light on Cold Atmospheric Plasmas and Nanorad - Ultrafast Nano-Scale Material Response to Radiation.
- Research Interests: Low temperature plasmas, warm dense matter, laser-plasma interactions, X-ray diagnostics, radiation sources, and high-energy density physics.
- Collaborations: Active in interdisciplinary projects with institutions like STFC, Queen's University Belfast, and international teams.
Scientific Awards:
- Fellowship of the Institute of Physics (2011)
He has contributed to numerous research outputs, including experimental studies on XUV radiation absorption in warm dense materials and dynamic X-ray diffraction in shocked solids. His work involves external collaborations, peer review activities, and supervision of research teams.
