David Reiss

David Reiss is a Clinical Professor of Law and Research Director of the Blassberg-Rice Center on Entrepreneurship Law at Cornell Tech, part of Cornell University. He joined the faculty in July 2024 and focuses on real estate finance, housing policy, and the intersection of real estate with blockchain technology.

• Key Responsibilities: Founding Director of Brooklyn Law School’s Community Development Clinic, Chair of the New York City Rent Guidelines Board (until recently)

His scholarship includes the forthcoming book Paying for the American Dream: How to Reform the Market for Mortgages (Oxford University Press) and commentary on real estate legal developments in outlets like The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. He serves on the New York State Bar Association’s Task Force on Emerging Digital Finance and Currency.
