David Rand is an Associate Professor of Management Science (MIT Sloan) and Brain and Cognitive Sciences at MIT, with a joint faculty appointment. He directs the Human Cooperation Laboratory and Applied Cooperation Team and is affiliated with the MIT Institute for Data, Systems, and Society. His research bridges cognitive science, behavioral economics, and psychology to study decision-making dynamics, focusing on topics like misinformation, cooperation, political preferences, and social media behavior.
