David R. Newhouse is a Professor of Indigenous Studies and Chair of the Chanie Wenjack School for Indigenous Studies at Trent University, Ontario. He concurrently holds roles as Professor in the School of Business and Co-Chair of the Trent Aboriginal Education Council. His research focuses on modern Aboriginal society, governance, and economic development. Newhouse has held leadership positions including Principal of Peter Gzowski College and Chair of Trent’s Indigenous Studies department since 1993.
Education: B.Sc. and M.B.A. from the University of Western Ontario. Teaching emphasizes 'critical awareness' and 'reflective practice,' covering courses like Foundations of Indigenous Studies and Indigenous Governance.
