David R. Davis is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Emory University, serving as Honors Program Director and former Associate Chair. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Colorado, Boulder (1992) and a B.A. from the University of Maryland (1985). His research focuses on international relations, political violence, human rights, and the political economy of development, with emphasis on ethnic conflict, crisis escalation, and domestic-international conflict linkages.
He has held visiting roles at Sciences-Po (Paris) and the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa). Davis co-directs the Institute for Human Rights at Emory and founded the European Politics Summer Study Abroad Program. His teaching spans research methods, human rights, and global politics.
