Dr David Nunan is a Senior Researcher and Educator in Evidence-Based Healthcare and a Research Fellow at the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, University of Oxford. He holds a PhD, MSc (Brunel University), and BSc (Kingston University).

His research focuses on lifestyle interventions for non-communicable diseases, particularly the role of physical activity in primary care, technology in clinical practice, and improving evidence communication to professionals and the public. He develops tools like one-page evidence summaries and leads work on meta-epidemiology and systematic reviews.
David supervises undergraduate and postgraduate research projects, including five DPhil students. His recent publications address clinical trial trustworthiness checks, posthumous authorship ethics, and intervention fidelity in complex trials. He serves as Director of the MSc in EBHC Teaching and Education and Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching Evidence-Based Health Care.
Scientific awards include Fellow of Kellogg College and runner-up in I’m a Scientist Get me out of here (2015). He also contributes to NHS and RCGP-funded research, the Catalogue of Bias, and outreach programs like EinSTein for evidence-based medicine education.
