About
David NERON is a Professor at the Mechanical Engineering Department of ENS Paris-Saclay within Université Paris-Saclay. He has held significant academic leadership roles including Director of the Graduate School for Research and Higher Education (since 2020), President of the French Computational Structural Mechanics Association (CSMA, 2020-2024), and Head of the Master 2 Research program (MS)²SC since 2015. He co-leads the International Research and Training Group CoMeTeN with Prof. U. Nackenhorst, a collaborative effort between ENS Paris-Saclay and the University of Hannover.
His research focuses on computational strategies for high-performance computing, including Proper Generalized Decomposition (PGD), model reduction for parametrized problems, and nonincremental strategies like LATIN. Applications span aerospace engineering (e.g., Ariane 5/6 space launcher simulations), fatigue analysis in engine components, and earthquake engineering. He leads the Model Reduction and Dynamics team at LMT (CNRS UMR 8535) and has managed major projects funded by ANR, CNES, and industry partners like SAFRAN and Renault.
NERON organizes high-profile conferences such as the 2021 World Congress of Computational Mechanics (ECCOMAS) and chairs workshops on multiscale modeling and reduced-order methods. His work bridges academic research with industrial applications, emphasizing computational efficiency and scalability in engineering simulations.
