David Morgan

Dr. David Morgan is Professor of Biology in the Dr. Perry College of Mathematics, Computing, and Sciences at the University of West Georgia. His research integrates plant evolutionary biology (focusing on Asteraceae phylogenetics) and ecology (studying bryophyte communities and vascular flora).

He investigates reticulate evolution in Machaerantherinae using DNA sequencing, conducts floristic inventories like Snake Creek Gorge, and analyzes moss community variations in southeastern xeric habitats. As herbarium curator, he manages botanical collections and supports taxonomic research. He teaches Vascular Plants, Plant Taxonomy, Ecology, and Evolution.
