David Michael Dosa

Dr. David Michael Dosa is a Professor at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, affiliated with the T.H. Chan School of Medicine and the Department of Medicine. He also holds positions in the Division of Geriatrics, Population and Quantitative Health Sciences, and the Masters in Clinical Investigation program.

• Education: BA in Biology from the University of Virginia, MPH from the University of Pittsburgh, and MD from George Washington University School of Medicine.

His research spans geriatrics, long-term care, disaster medicine, and public health. He investigates climate-related health impacts on vulnerable populations, antibiotic stewardship in nursing homes, and policy frameworks for end-of-life care. Recent work includes analyses of mortality in correctional facilities during extreme weather and hurricane preparedness in assisted living communities.

His publications from 2022-2025 focus on climate resilience, antimicrobial prescribing, disaster epidemiology, and health equity in long-term care settings. He collaborates extensively on interdisciplinary studies involving veterans’ healthcare, pandemic response, and elder abuse.
